Read in a single day. Very good storytelling, if difficult topics.

What can I say about this book… It is at the same time compelling but also disturbing. These parents are absolutely and totally crazy! The children all suffered terribly from their parents mental illnesses. It was so good to read how Tara came through this but it was not without great struggle and great sacrifice. When you read this book be ready to want to reach through and strangle some people or be wishing you could call the police on these parents. It is a great book but sometimes the timeline was a little difficult to follow.

I read this book because I’m an Idahoan and I read this book because I’m teacher, and I think it was a challenging read from both perspectives. Don’t get me wrong, I think it what absolutely well written and an incredible story but I think it hit a little too close to home for me.
