Nicely written (as you’d expect) contemporary chronicle of the MCC tour of South Africa in 1948/9, and a few pages on New Zealand’s 1949 tour of England. Arlott briefly shows discomfort over conditions black South Africans lived in; he would later be a prominent anti-apartheid voice in cricket.
