If you are looking for a story that has a great foundation, a fantastic slow burn, wonderful characters and an incredible narrating team, then you have found the book for you! Starfish features Marin, a woman who thought she was getting the perfect tech internship, only to find herself on a tour bus chronicling the life and times of a rock band. She was not ready for this, but was going to make the best of this four month stint. Brad, the lead guitarist of the rock band immediately felt an attraction, but with the reputation of a rocker and the aloofness of Marin, he decided to take it slow. And this burn was just that. I was invested in their story, willing to follow them from city to city and see the romance grow. Lisa Becker didn't dwell on the paparazzi or dealing with being famous, but wrote a true love story about real people. It's so easy to fall for the image, but this let us be on the inside, get to know Brad and his dreams. It's a refreshing look at the possibilities we don't know as the fans, and I am so glad we got to tour with them!

The narration team of Erin Mallon and Sebastian York is a dream. They brought this story to life, enhancing the characters with their voices, and let us develop an image of them. I love both and really enjoyed their performance.

Today I am really excited because I got to finish reading STARFISH by Lisa Becker and I realllllly loved it. It was such a well written, cute, romance story told in alternative POV's. I really appreciated how the romance was given time and substance to develop and the best friend is not just a crutch to support the main character, she was funny, adorable and a really good friend. Marin and Grace's relationship was absolute #SQUADGOALS! And this is what I wanted and needed when I picked it up to read it.

I am so so so grateful to Lisa for sending me an advanced copy of it. The release of STARFISH is in May, so preorder now. It is truly my first 5 star read of April and I am so pumped that my reading month has started so well!

Thanks Lisa for a copy of this novel!

After getting her MBA, Marin takes an internship at a prestigious PR firm, assuming that she’ll be working for one of their trendy tech startup clients. Instead she finds herself assigned to tour with the rock band King’s Quarters (dream job, right?) and she is absolutely determined to keep things professional even though she’s spending her summer on the band’s tour bus.⁣

I loved the buildup to Marin and Brad’s relationship and the slow burn was worth it!

Ahhh another beautiful novel by the exceptional writer Lisa Becker. I can't seem to get enough of her books. I am feeling so lucky to have gotten an arc addition of this rock romance before it's officially out.
Marin and Brad were so sweet and easy to talk in love with. Their romance was anything but easy but you just knew they were meant to be. Her refusals to hook up and his constant banter just made this novel an emotionally charged read that I won't soon forget.

A slow burn rockstar romance that was equal parts fun and a sweet romance. I really enjoyed it and liked that it was sweet at the end part with the romance but not to crigngy sweet that makes my ears curl up into them self.

OMG! Starfish is an amazing, fun, hot story that will keep you turning the pages until the very end!

Marin's internship is not at all what she was wanting to land but she gives it her all, because that's just the way she does things. Her travels on the road, promoting a rock band, has her experiencing a completely different kind of life from what she's used to. The chemistry between Marin and Brad is steamy hot right from the start but she has a policy of not getting involved with co-workers, let alone employers. Yeah, right. How'd that work for you, Marin?

I seriously loved this story and enjoyed watching the relationship between Marin and Brad grow as they figured out their feelings for each other—and then acted on them. Hot, hot, hot! Lisa has created another delightful, engrossing tale that will sweep you off your feet. You really need to add Starfish to your summer reading list!

Starfish by Lisa Becker is a Rock Star Romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Erin Mallon and Sebastian York.

This is the second book of Lisa’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. You can’t help but fall in love with Marin and Brad. I cannot wait to get my hands on Dear Future Self that releases February 4, 2020.

Sebastian and Erin did an amazing job on the narration.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Rock Star Romances, Contemporary Romance, Forbidden Romance, or Romantic Comedies. This book covers them all and it is absolutely amazing.

I'm sorta new to the "rock star" romance genre.  I've read a series in the past that centered around musicians but I don't think that is what they called that sort of book...yet!

Anyway, this book made me laugh...a lot.  Marin is out of her element initially but finds her groove in helping market a rock band.  The band has several different diverse personality types from the serious to the prankster.  This does not even include the smarmy band manager that really needs to be thrown out.

The story is brilliantly told through the POV of Marin and Brad.  Seeing the events unfold through both of their eyes brings a new dimension to the story that draws the reader in even more.  There are times that I was hurting for Marin due to something Brad said or did, and then find he redeems himself in the next chapter when we learn what he was thinking or meant to say/do but it perhaps didn't come out right.  I chuckled at how Marin would spread out in the bed when she fell asleep, looking like a starfish.  I felt warm and fuzzy when Marin ended up sick and how Brad took care of her to make sure she would be ok.

Being a member of a rock band isn't like you might imagine or see in the tabloids.  They are hard working individuals that care about their craft, music.   There are those that are exactly what you see in the tabloids but several members of this group had higher aspirations.  Brad is one of those with larger dreams and I enjoyed seeing him working on that dream between gigs.  Plus I think it is cool to have a musician that is also a computer geek.

I haven't even mentioned Grace, Marin's best friend and roommate.  She is a rock star in her own right and a good friend to Marin.  I think Grace deserves a book of her own in the future.

I think there might be another story or two that focuses on the various band members.  But only time will tell if we see those stories emerge.

We give this book 5 paws up.
