I’ve read Celeste Ng’s other novels, but this is my first time reading her debut, and it might be my favorite. I currently work in a small college town in Northwest Ohio where this book is set, so it hits a little close to home. What hit even closer was the realization of how pushing things down and not sharing parts of yourself to those around you leads to mess, confusion, and hurt. It’s a good reminder for me to stop that and start living more authentically.

Unglaublich traurig.
