I like Ayelet Waldman and I like this collection, but I was expecting a little more fire.
emotional
funny
informative
lighthearted
reflective
medium-paced
The author describes the problem with this book in Chapter 6 when she says: "Worse, I over-share," and says that she has the "bipolar inability to resist the impulse to reveal inappropriately intimate details of one's life." There you have it. And after learning way too much about Ayelet Waldman, I am seriously disgusted and will not read anything else she's written. Ugh.
This collection is not entertaining, enlightening, thought-provoking, or amusing.

I feel that perhaps I'm not the right age/intended audience for this. She has a strong voice and a good eye for detail, but this didn't resonate with me as much as I had hoped.
Hysterical! Literally laughed out loud while reading this. Truthful and honest reflection of how we moms feel at times.
Ayelet Waldman is waaaay more fun to read than her husband!
Picked up this book after hearing her on NPR and loved it. Very real and honest.
This is the motherhood memoir I wish I had written. Honest and insightful, but mostly it reminds us what's really important (hint: it's not who can be the best parent and look down the hardest on everyone else). Most of the chapters felt straight from my life, though the few that didn't left me baffled (so I wonder if some people might miss their experience all together). And it's hilarious.
