idek what to say. I get I'm definitely out of the age range for these books but the mysteries are so anti-climactic and easily discernible it's kind of depressing. That coupled with many of the characters lacking depth or clear motivations (Moriarity, Alfie, Rohan, etc) end up leaving them rather flat. Just because it's a book aimed at middle-schoolers doesn't mean characters can't have depth or mysteries can't be hard to untangle. It's okay to let kids use their brains, I swear!

Third book in series of the Baker Street Irregulars. This gang of urchins has become involved in routinely helping Sherlock Holmes with his investigations.

Ozzie has set out to uncover information about his unknown father. He finds some old tintypes and newspaper articles that make him suspect Holmes may know something about it. When he goes to confront the detective, however, the gang is in the middle of trying to discover an ancient Roman ruin and treasure before evil Moriarty and his gang of Gents does. Ozzie is caught up in the mystery and must help his friends come out of this alive before pursuing his past.
