Sex addiction and saviour complexes. Enjoyable but not as enjoyable as the others I've read by him. 3 stars.

I'm not sure why, but it's not my favorite. I like it, but there are others he's done that are better.

This is the first Palahniuk I've read and I really enjoyed it (although I had trouble deciding whether to give it 3 stars or 4). I gather, from reading the other reviews, that most people either love it or they hate it. I neither love it nor hate it...I just really enjoyed it. I'll definitely read more Palahniuk in the future.

I am not one for absurd books, which this unfortunately definitely is. Yes, it deals with things like (not) being who people make you out to be and trying to find your footing in life, but it is just too absurd and crass without being as funny or meaningful as it wants to be.

I like this book because I didn't like it. In the beginning Palahniuk says not to read the book, there are better things to do. I thought it was ironic half way through when I realized I didn't really want to read it anymore. But when I got through it I realized that I did like the clichés after all, just not four stars worthy. The ending was not the best part of the book, could have made it a bit more dramatic.
