so good!
I really loved it! It was a fast read and the characters were really great. The world building was great and had excellent pacing and flow. I just found it weird for a book one that it mentioned so many background things that it seemed confusing. Like it was middle of a series almost. Easy enough to follow along with if it is so it’s not like you can’t grasp the story. Really loved it though.

Loved!!
I loved Leonidas and Betsy! They had such great chemistry. And I loved this whole story. Lots of action, suspense and surprise villains. I want more! As the oldest of my siblings, I definitely relate to Betsy. It was great seeing her find her voice and stand up for herself. And Leonidas is just pure

Good message for duty and guilt
I liked that both MCs struggled with feelings of duty and had a habit of overextending themselves. It made them good mirrors for one another. Leo and Betsy were sweet together. I thought the Love story moved a bit fast, but in an apocalyptic world you can get away with a lot.
I enjoyed that the book addressed guilt and boundary setting as well.
Spice: 4ish scenes
Triggers: death, imprisonment, medical experimentation, violence, emotional abuse

I really wanted to like this more
Most of my issue with this book was the “quirkiness” of the FMC. It came off as awkward. But not endearing awkward - more like trying too hard from a writing standpoint. I also hated basically all of the characters except the MMC.

It's and interesting book. Not really my jam but it's was well written and for that I give it 4 stars. It was a little bit to long for my liking but like I said I'm not a big fan of paranormal romance so I wasn't as much into it. If you like those stories you'll like this one. If not then you might, just like me, forget you just read that one and go to your next smuttiest romance book
