The book is at its best when contemplating the themes of accepting one’s loss of identity and how personal prejudices coalesce into a wave of unfound hatred. The incessant listing of flamboyant German names throughout irked me in the moment until the shocking ending in which the nail is hit right on its head by Uhlman.

Super short yet still deeply felt. It hit the exact mark it was trying to without diving too far into it - that last sentence. Wow

Picked this up in a free little library in Amsterdam.
