Hm.. Liked, didn't love. I felt quite disconnected from the story and the characters, maybe because it was difficult to put myself in Craig and Lio's shoes, as I've never been through something like this. Still, the plot didn't grip me like I hoped it would. Possible mini review to come.

Oh, this book ...

I really loved it, despite the sometimes slighly annoying shininess whinyness (I just had to preserve that glorious typo!) of the protagonists (I am one to talk :D).

Especially the writing, oh the writing! So raw, yet witty, yet close to what the characters were actually going through. Just read the sample and you'll know what I mean.

And the charas are great too. I almost want to be friends with them, then again, it would probably be more accurate to say, my 15-year old self would want to be friends with them.

SpoilerI was scared of an evil twist ending where one of them gets shot, but thankfully, we got an actual happy ending which was surprising given Moskowitz' reputation of only writing heart-breaking stuff. Well, guess I'll get the heart-break from [b:Teeth|12024430|Teeth|Hannah Moskowitz|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1335469628s/12024430.jpg|16990352], so I am glad to have caught her maybe one pretty upflifting book. Yay happy ending! :)

So, great book. I regret abit I could not write this review last night immediately after finishing, but I just needed my sleep and especially now that
SpoilerCraig finally got his (I knew some cuddling would solve his insomnia! Called it! :D).

Everyone read this. It will leave you happy and glad to have read it. :)

This wasn't the best contemporary I've read but I enjoyed the characters very much.
If you enjoy LGBT fiction check this one out. BOOK THOUGHTS TO COME.

It took some time for me to become fully invested into the story; however, the characters are enjoyable.

I thought I was going to love this...but it didn't grip me. Perhaps it was just the timing and another time I will fall in love with Hannah Moskowitz like I assumed I would.

This book was really great. Love the repetition and the characters, especially Lio, he was awesome. If you like LGBT literature and Hannah's books, definitely give this a read. It's fantastic.

Very hard to really discuss this book... one of those that really needs to be experienced in order to be understood. But if there was word to sum it up, it would be: Bittersweet. :)

Beautiful, perfect, flawless...what more can I say?

The alternating POV for Craig and Lio was every bit as perfect as I hoped it would be. Hannah has a glorious way with words and translating the human brain to put it on paper. Both in this book, and in INVINCIBLE SUMMER, everything her characters feel is so tangible because of her writing.

Her books truly are character driven. Time passes, things happen, but what really gets me drawn into her stories are the characters and the going-ons inside their heads. She somehow makes it the most fascinating thing in the world to watch, and Craig and Lio are beautifully flawed and perfect all at the same time.

SO glad I was able to read an ARC for this, because waiting for the book to come out (which I will purchase anyway) was torture.

kind of disjointed and confusing when you first start.
but the story slowly unfolds and you get to know Lio and Craig (Craiger/Craigor) and suddenly you're almost done with the book

the added undercurrent of the Snipers was eerie and disturbing. I remember those days. I lived on the west coast and was terrified daily for everyone on the east coast. I can't imagine if I'd had kids...or watched news...

all in all, I'm glad I read it.
