Really creepy, I liked the all the subtle 'coincidences' that happened througout the story. It mostly followed the path of one character who was very solitary throughout the book, so I felt sometimes it dragged a little when we were just stuck in the character's own head.
I'd also encourage you to make sure you've read 'The Haunter of the Dark' by Lovecraft, as the book builds on some of the elements from there.
I also felt like part of the ending was a little too jarring -the character is young, only 23, and she is so focused on the relationship with her own family throughout the story, it seemed so weird for her to suddenly be thrust into motherhood in the space of only one page when her feelings about being a mother herself didn't have a drop of attention earlier.

You know that feeling of something sneaking up on you, but each time you look in its direction, nothing is there? That was how I felt the majority of this story. I got genuine goosebumps a few times, just KNOWING that something sinister was lurking, but unable to firmly put my finger on it. The build-up of suspense was subtle yet superb.
As for the ending, I truly didn't see it coming. It was equally terrifying and disturbing to me, and I thought it was a fitting finale. My only wish is that it had been expanded on a bit longer because it happened so fast that I had little time to react.
Overall, this was enjoyable, and I'm so glad I read it. It's the first of my books from this author, but most definitely not the last.
