This book so reminded me of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry...a best seller so I keep expecting the mostly dull story line to explode into brilliant fireworks, but at the end I learn it really is just a mostly banal story about an old white guy. I did like the life/death talk.

I cried. I hugged my husband a lot. This was a deeply moving book and perhaps it was a mistake to read the second half at night, during the middle of a pandemic, and I should have expected to be overwhelmed. I found it more moving than humorous, but there is a lot of humor in it, and love.

Read this book. I think you will be glad you did.

Such a beautiful book. It is very simple but in the best way possible. Read it!

I haven't read a book that made me laugh and cry at the same time in a while.
