Absolutely beautifully written. Does a great job of conveying technical information in plain terms. Some may find that it starts off slow because it goes over the science of nuclear reactors at the beginning (rather than the disaster, which is more exciting). However, once this story gets going it was impossible to put down.

The insight into the ramifications of the radition both on the individuals and the Soviet Union as a whole was very interesting.

Gives a more in depth accounting of the events, people, and cultural context surrounding the chernobyl explosion than the popular show, definitely worth a read if you're interested in chernobyl.

I have read a lot about Chernobyl and this is far and the best book to cover the subject. I couldn’t put it down. Well researched. I can’t wait to read more by this author. A fantastic book. Well done!
