Cute holiday novella. I like how kind the characters are in Kate Clayborn's romances. This one is very slight but still enjoyable.

Cute novella about Jasper and Kris, originally introduced in book one of the Chance of a Lifetime trilogy (Beginner's Luck). They own a business together and have been friends for 6 years. Both have feelings for the other, but won't act on it in fear that it will ruin their friendship and their partnership. However, after a success, Kris asks Jasper to kiss her. He does, but then pulls away. So, now they are mixed up.
When they are forced to go to New England to save a contract right before Christmas, they get snowed in, and sparks fly.

Catching up on some Christmas romances that I didn't get to during the actual Christmas season.

A sweet Hallmark-but-hotter Christmas novella about two longtime colleagues trying to save a deal at Christmas - and wind up snowed in together. Which forces them to realize they love each other (not a spoiler, haha)

Perfect Christmas Gift

What a beautiful and perfect novella. Missing Christmas revisits Jasper , Ben's partner from Beginners Luck and we learn so much about him. This is a perfect ode to family, love and Christmas traditions.

Two stars is generous. I said I would give this author another chance based on Love Lettering. I read the descriptions of some of the others and they did not appeal to me. This one is about Christmas so I thought OK I can get behind Christmas. Turns out it’s a novela, So it was very quick and predictable and didn’t have much depth. This is not what I was expecting after reading Love Lettering.

Kate Clayborn is one of my favoriteeeeee writers and this was a perfectly sweet (almost sickly for my taste) Christmas novella that had all the quiet emotional resonance that is her signature. I do wish, though, that this wasn't dual POV/first-person because I think the tension could have been higher and the chemistry hotter. I think maybe I'm expecting too much out of a sweet-and-simple novella though, and for those who just want a cute holiday one-hour read, this will likely satisfy. Unfortunately for me I'm looking for PAIN and drama and tension, even in a holiday tale lol.
