There was a certain level of trepidation upon beginning this book as I rarely read memoirs. However, I was so glad to have happened upon this one because it resonated on so many levels

Do I agree with all of the concepts or therapeutic methods introduced and discussed, no, but they all have merit and the power of this books narrative, is that you can relate to the concepts and experiences discussed and consider critically your own perceptions based on symbols you encounter on a daily basis. It makes you think, it encourages you to feel and it prompts reflection through empathising with Raabs story

The writing prompts at the end of each chapter are fantasic and neatly summarise the main concepts within the chapter whilst enabling the reader to apply them to their own writing practice

I enjoyed this book in that it was constructive in the sense of giving practical tips, yet bared the soul of the author tgrough the life experiences that fuelled her writing and world view also providing a framework for challenges encountered through her lifes journey to date

A quick read but a very worthwhile one.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
