Kerry Lonsdale is a brilliant writer who continues to amp up her own ability. In her 3rd book, the second in this series, Lonsdale dives deep into the life of a man in a fugue state, both as he was in that state and as he is in trying to reconcile a past six years where he was both alive and dead. Characters who I'd previously despised were made complete through revelations of their own, and this world that Lonsdale created continues to unfold with rich layers that both propel the plot and deepen character arcs. I loved it, will absolutely follow this story along as it continues.

Predictable

Felt like a sad follow up to thr first. Far less intrigue and highly repetitive writing. Wont be reading the next installment. Most like a poorly written soap opera.

The second in the Everthing series focuses on James/Carlos. The way the author weaves the story is amazing.

Everything We Left Behind is the second book in this series and this time round we get to follow James in more detail as the protagonist. I read and enjoyed the first book, and was looking forward to this second chapter in the story. I was curious about James and Carlos and how their lives would switch from one to the other. It was interesting finding out more about the characters and the different points of view they had about things that happened in the first book.

I suggest reading the first book before diving into this one as this follows on the story from that one. Whilst you could read this without having read the first, this is much better if you have that background knowledge.

The thing I found with this book was that whilst I enjoyed it, and didn't have any problems picking it back up after a break, I didn't have any problem putting it down either.

A full star better than its predecessor, Everything We Left Behind adds a whole new depth to the story of Everything We Keep. It is very much a sequel, but from the perspective of James/Carlos as they both come to terms with the fact of their fugue state (and the fact that they're the same person). My full review will be live on www.findinglandblog.com on Saturday, 11/4 at 11:30 am EST.

Great follow up

Everything We Keep was a book that rocked my world. I thought it was an awesome read which did not seem at all like a typical author's first book. Everything We Left Behind was a great follow up and did a great job at answering all the questions from the first book as well as leaving some things for you to wonder about for the next go round. It sucks I have to wait until July 2018 for the next book but I think it will be worth the wait. Kerry Lonsdale is an author I will definitely be keeping up with.
