After taking care of some unfinished business from before X of Swords, the Marauders spend most of this volume turning Lowtown, Madripoor into their base of operations, clashing with the new Verendi government meanwhile.

The issue with Kate and Emma taking revenge on Sebastian was pretty great, and I enjoyed the overarching plot of the battle for Lowtown. There's a King in Black tie-in, which I could take or leave. We end with a tribute issue to Storm, who's in for something new and different after the Hellfire Gala.

Marauders is still worth sticking with for now!

“Consequences”, “The Winds of Change”, and “Windriders” were really good issues that tied up some loose ends from the previous arc, told a powerful story about Callisto, and provided what felt like a feel-good retrospective you might expect would come at the very end of a run. Didn't care for the King in Black tie-in, and the other issues weren't entirely memorable.

I literally only read this series because of my love for Pyro, and honestly it's a lot of fun! I don't think I'm knowledgeable enough to really recommend these, but I can say it's fun, it's adventurous, all the characters are interesting. Can't hurt to pick it up!

Although, and please bear in mind this is coming from someone who hasn't touched a Marvel comic ever outside of these, it's kind of difficult catching up on what's happening in the universe outside of each collection (in this case, the Marauders).

Summer 2021 (June);

Just knocking out some of these that are completed. I've been keeping the reviews in the Dawn of X, X of Swords, Reign of X entries specifically, so this is just going to keep repeating to knock these off my list so I can keep this marked off in GR as read in the newest X-Verse.

Good book. Wraps up the Madripoor and Shaw plotlines well and leads into Hellfire Gala nicely.
