To simply judge this book based on the title would lead to not fully understanding what the pages contain. As the cover explains it is "using Licoln's words to tell the whole story of America's Civil War, 1776 to the present." This book explains American history by breaking down The Gettysburg Address phrase by phrase from explaining why using Fourscore and seven years ago was important to use as the start of the Union to how the final phrase "and that goverment of the People, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth," while not terrible original, was just important stressing that the it is the people that is important not the states. Great book.

Short Review: The Gettysburg Address: A Graphic Adaptation - great art, sophisticated history and political science, clear direction. A great example of non-fiction graphic novel that is appropriate both for high school students and adults.

It's very clear that the author's have a particular thesis to present, but they also do a wonderful job of backing up their argument with a tremendous amount of historical context. An exceptionally easy to use overview of this period in American history.

Interesting analysis of the Gettysburg Address in graphic novel form. Some of the images are too ambiguous to make out.

Beautiful artistry meets exciting history in this graphic novel adaptation of the Gettysburg address. The work serves as a brief overview of the American civil war & the political force that Lincoln embodied. This was a real joy to read, and I now feel inspired to read more about this time in our collective past.
