TL;DR: Two girls are struggling with the disappearance of their parents, being shuffled around from one inappropriate foster home to another, and a family business they know nothing about.

I struggled to get into this book at first. Once the action kicked in it made the book a faster read. I think a struggle for younger readers may be all the characters that pass through the scenes. Generally, they were famous fairy tale characters and it wasn't necessary to learn much about them. But it might be overwhelming depending on the age group.

My favorite quote:
“Eventually the brothers realized humans and Everafters couldn’t live together any longer so they found ships and used their connections, and like generations of poor and persecuted people before them, the Everafters decided to move to America.”
“Yay!” Daphne cheered.
“But America had its problems, too,” Mrs. Grimm explained.
“Boo!” Daphne moaned.

I remembered reading this series as a kid and decided to pick them back up. It was just as enjoyable the second time around! Lots of snark and cleverly tied in fairly tales. I think I’ll read the whole series again!
