my favorite of this week's reading. great for hesitant boy readers. i like how it emphasized that reading takes you places and can be exciting. particularly liked the part where they can't figure out who the girl character is.

This was the best of the Time Warp Trio books so far! Instead of venturing to a point in history (or the future) this one sees the trio mistakenly being transported to a world full of characters from their school's Summer reading list for 1st through 8th graders. Scieszka writes in a fun way that describes the characters first before the boys in the story announce who they are, so the reader can guess based on descriptions.

This was really fun to read aloud to my 5 and 6 year old as they shouted out characters they recognized and I chuckled to myself about jokes they don't quite get yet ("kill the pig, spill his blood"). I highly recommend this one to avid readers of any age!

Instead of traveling through space and time, in this story the Time Warp Trio travel into their Summer Reading List. The trio is transported into a world many classic children's stories and have to face a gang of literary villains. As with all of the books in this series, it is a lot of fun definitely inspired me to seek out and revisit the classic stories from the reading list.
