I've just come to expect so much from a Christie novel... so, what was a perfectly adequate mystery feels like a bit of a let-down. The pace was kind of plodding, and the solution doesn't come as much of a surprise by the time you're there. It seems like most people love it, though, so who knows!

A bit lackluster for Miss Marple’s final mystery, but at least the concept of “murder in retrospect” was fresh and interesting. I saw the murderer coming almost immediately but it was still fun watching our protagonists work it out for themselves. With this last book, I bid a fond farewell to my favourite old busybody detective Miss Marple.

Overall, Sleeping Murder has been my least favorite Agatha Christie mystery thus far for a couple of reasons:
1) I identified the killer before it was unveiled to the characters. This has never happened to me when I have read Agatha Christie, so I was a bit disappointed.
2) The story follows the husband and wife duo more than Miss Marple. In doing so, it created a different structure and provided some variety from Agatha Christie's standard novel. However, I missed the quirkiness of our standard detective's perspective.
3) This was also the first Miss Marple novel I have read - I think I prefer Hercule Poriot over Miss Marple, as he is a more vibrant personality.
Despite those qualms, I still thoroughly enjoyed the novel and could not stop listening to the audiobook. I would still recommend Sleeping Murder to any mystery enthusiasts!
