This is, as it sounds, a collection of 365 stories and poems for children accompanied by illustrations by the great Richard Scarry of Busytown fame. They're labeled for each day, and the book includes lovely illustrated pages marking the start of each season, as well.

Unfortunately, as may be expected by a book not only from the 1950s but also attempting to churn out 365 different stories, there is a wide range from cute and funny stories, to drab misses, to a few things that haven't aged particularly well (primarily poor representation of Indigenous people). The latter is actually not as prevalent as one might fear, at least.

It's cute, but often bland. I personally favor the animal-based illustrations. So I suppose in the end, I'd say pick up Richard Scarry's Busytown stuff, rather than go out of the way for this one. They're generally more amusing and interesting!
