I have not loved a cast of characters this much in a LONG time. Especially Vera, she’s the type of person I admire in real life. Really enjoyable, quick and easy read. My favorite book I’ve read this year!

I loved this book. It was exactly the sort of light yet intriguing story I needed in my life at this moment. I picked it up as a palate cleanser between some heavier reads, but it also soothed my soul.

I guess this would probably be classed as a cosy mystery, and I'm generally not the biggest fan of the genre, but this worked for me. Some of the plot was ridiculous, but it was charming enough for me to overlook it.

I was initially concerned about the number of POV characters in a relatively short book (I think there were five), but I felt their personalities were distinct enough that it worked.

Just a genuinely funny and sweet book centered around the murder of a shitty man in an old woman's tea shop. Vera is such a fun lead and the supporting cast of characters is just delightful. It's a fun breezy beach read that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a sort of lighter read.

This story took me by surprise. I knew it was a cozy mystery about an old lady in Chinatown, San Francisco, who finds a dead body in her tea shop one morning. What I didn’t know was that this was a beautiful found-family narrative, about art, community, and healing. I absolutely loved it, and I actually cried at the end. I recommend reading this one for humor, hijinks, beautiful character journeys, and all the feels.

After recently reading some "heavier" books, this book was a delightful change.  I loved this quirky, cozy mystery.  Vera Wong is a delightful character, as were all her suspects.  A bonus was that I felt like I was back in San Francisco.

I tried the mystery/crime genre, a cosy one, and was not disappointed! I love tea and books featuring tea. I liked how the author tackled some more serious themes in a little cosy book, such as toxic marriage, parents' expectations and pressure, and motherhood. It was a really fun, and at times, quite emotional read.
