Read this for book club this month and it was truly the perfect book club read. There's so many different trails and crumbs to try to figure out the mystery and I adored all the characters throughout the journey. The plot twist at the end wasn't expected though I had my suspicions. I loved the writing style and how humorous it was. I don't think I've read a book that has made me laugh this much throughout the ENTIRE book in a long time.

Just a genuinely funny and sweet book centered around the murder of a shitty man in an old woman's tea shop. Vera is such a fun lead and the supporting cast of characters is just delightful. It's a fun breezy beach read that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a sort of lighter read.

Vera was so funny! I loved reading the chapters from her perspective. Some of the other POV characters were less developed, especially Riki. The story was at its best in the Vera chapters. I really liked Emma and Julia too.

Honestly so funny for a book about a death in a tea shop.
Vera was hilarious and I know so many Aunties like this. She was great, and the perfect balance of nosy and caring.
All our characters had interesting secret lives that unravelled so nicely. I wanted to know the tea (wink wink) and they spilled it on such a great progression.
Getting sucked into Vera’s world was absolutely hilarious, and I actually just loved it.
The mystery itself was really great. I did call the killer about halfway through HOWEVER another twist in there through the story was NOT foreseen so props for that.
