I think kids will love the lift the flaps - it's always fun to discover things and look into people's houses. I know I've been nosey about other's houses ever since I was little (and why House Hunters is the best show ever). Ultimately, I found that the lens of this book sorta missed the mark. I would have loved some follow up language to Mongolia or Kenya to explain that not everyone who doesn't like in Europe lives in these kinds of houses. It would have been neat, perhaps, to see a series of these books such as A Place Called Home: Africa or A Place Called Home: South America and it could go over the wide range of houses to find in these places. An okay book for sure with kid appeal, but this one is hard for me to get overly excited about.
