I absolutely loved this book, I truly think everyone should read it (well the original version, this is just the one I had access to, but everyone in the military should read this one)

Maybe it's because I'm in the field of psychology, but I found the language of this book to be very patronizing. Another major issue was religion popping its head in.

However, the concept behind this book is still sound. I truly appreciate the suggestions for military couples especially with deployment. And I look forward to using what I've learned from this in the future as my relationship with my husband moves forward.

Great read

I like the different stories of couples who are in the military. I already read the original version and i like the fact that the suggestions for service members are so spot on

I recommend just reading the original book - [b:The Five Love Languages How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate|567795|The Five Love Languages How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate (Now with a Comprehensive Study Guide)|Gary Chapman|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1369401342s/567795.jpg|832090].

This edition, written specifically for military couples didn't really apply much to me. The FAQ's in the back of the book were the best part. I probably couldn't apply a lot of his suggestions because during deployments, I have zero communication (my sailor is on a submarine). I felt he was speaking to those that have spouses who deploy overseas or on a carrier ship.

I’ve read Chapman’s original and this one, both are great tools. This book I enjoyed because it prepared me for love in the military and gave me more specific solutions for my personal situation.
