I enjoyed the expansion and more in depth looks at some of the other races. Probably because this series is such a similar one as the first, the traveling/waiting times seem longer than they are. I do like that there's still development continuing with some of the side characters. This series definitely has a soft spot in my heart.

Belgarion and friends set out on their quest to rescue his son from Zandramas, they track them through Nyissa picking up another cohort and the land of the Murgo's where they find another.
This one is a bit more interesting than book one as they have a goal with a lot of side quests instead of just reacting to things like in book 1.

not the best Eddings book, but still plenty fun.
