Too many directions

I found the interest in the first vestibule of the northwestern second hall in the year I decided to read this book. It wasn’t until almost the end that it started to move forward with other than mentioning halls and vestibules and the mundane life of the character.

4 stars

I am boosting the rating up to 4 stars because I keep thinking about this book and the more I do, the more I like it. It requires a patient reader as the style is very slow and deliberate at the beginning (it's written as a series of journal entries). It has a very unusual tone—haunting, really—which will turn off some readers, but I thought it worked.

The main character reminds me of a benevolent Smeagle / Gollum of sorts.... There is a lot to take in metaphorically and the writing is very good.

Contains brief strong profanity.
