Another great one from Alice Oseman!! I’m glad that we got to see a bit more about Nick as a person, and his own insecurities!! I think I really connected with his struggle of not knowing what to do after school. I can’t wait until Volume 4 comes out!!

i enjoy heartstopper a lot and this was by no means bad! i really did like it, but there was comparatively less plot than in the other volumes, which was a slight minus point for me.

the one big reason i rated this less is because i feel mildly uncomfortable reading about minors sex lives in my almost mid 20s. it’s definitely an important topic to explore, and it’s nice to see it portrayed - sex is awkward, sometimes complicated (asexuality portrayed through tori) and supposed to be fun. i do wish i had read this in my teens and i am so glad younger queer people will get to benefit from this!

heartstopper does cover so many important subjects in all volumes and regardless of the rating i will always have a special place for the series in my heart and can not wait for the last one to come out!!

Maybe I am an odd person, but for the entire series, I have been sort of wondering if sex would tackled by these books as they're so light. In volume 5, I think the topic is handled very well, and the sparkles to represent er, *feelings*, were a nice touch. I'm glad Alice did choose to write about this, in their usual wholesome way.
I could read 1000 of these books. Nick and Charlie doing whatever. It's just so sweet and easy to read.
I have to add that as a Canadian, I find the "long-distance" worry quite funny. Maybe I am biased (my bf lives on another continent) but I mean c'mon. The European conception of distance and what is "close" and what is"far" crack me up. It doesn't take away from the story, it's just funny.
