"You've got no shadow."

My shadow stretches on for miles, fully engulfing the city below.

“Don’t worry. It’s just a demon from the depths of hell here to keep you from being too gay.”

One of my fave books of the year. Beautifully written, so many quotable lines. Sure, some of it's a little on the nose, but so what? It's on the nose FOR GREAT JUSTICE.

Full review to come when I get all my thoughts together!

This was good supernatural horror, and a good story of coming of age and coming to terms with one's situation, under the stifling control of the sort of evangelical Christian cult which is all too common in the modern United States. I enjoyed the horror, for its sake. And I enjoyed the rediscovery of suppressed lesbian love which was its driving narrative force. I even cried a bit. So credit to Chuck Tingle. He wrote a crazy demonic lesbian love story that made me cry.
