This is my favorite book of 2023. It was so devastating and enlightening all at once. This book told the gut wrenching story of Pulga, Pequeña, and Chico trying to better themselves by emigrating to the us.

Harrowing fictional account of three teenagers who flee danger in Guatemala for a better life in the United States. This was almost impossible to listen to because their lives were so difficult but I think sometimes we need to read the hard books to be reminded about how fortunate we are.

I personally didn't enjoy this book, but I think everyone should read it, to understand critical things migrants from South America and Mexico face when heading to the United States border.

I Liked:
-The flawed main characters
-Depiction of brujas in the book (since I don't know a lot about them)

Gut wrenching. I cried for the kids the story follows. I was a little disappointed with the ending because I wanted more, but at the same time it’s nice how it was left up to imagination.
