4.5. I really enjoy these books. They’re very exciting and mostly realistic, with some obvious Hollywood type action scenes, but very well done. I can’t stand June, and still despise how she (who never served in the Marines or military at all) refers to Peter as “jarhead” or “marine” damn near every conversation. It’s cringey, but it’s the only real complaint I have with the books.

Peter Ash never fails to disappoint! This book had me hooked from the beginning. I always want to see who he is helping next.

I'm enjoying this series with the flawed veteran simply trying to make a good way in the world with the tools at his disposal. This time, he heads to Memphis to help a friend of a friend. Flavors of Parker's Spenser/Hawk friendship are seen from time to time, as well as a few others.

Fantastic book set in Memphis. Love the South and the different cultures portrayed. Yet again Peter Ash soars above everyone. Definitely a superhero and a great book.

Tear It Down is undoubtedly an improvement upon Light It Up. The story and characters feel more natural, there is some real depth and it was a nice read. However, it's much longer than necessary and it drags on and on up to a point of profound frustration for the reader. I'd be a fool to say a thriller's only job is to thrill but it should be among its priorities, and this book did not thrill me. I think I've had enough Petrie for quite some time.

I recently finished the latest book about Peter Ash by Nick Petrie. This time our hero goes down south to Memphis, where a war photographer who is a friend of June is having trouble with her house. Once again he has to call in his acquaintance from earlier escapades and have him bring some ordnance. This was a very good story with connections back to the civil war. I am really glad that I tried this author and hope that he will continue this series. #WhatIamReading #LibraryOfAbibliofob #NickPetrie #PeterAsh #TearItDown
