Billingham has a way of squeezing your heart ever so slowly. The suspense builds, almost in the background, as you develop a relationship with the characters. Before you know it, the guy that you hated turns out to be a poor sap and you feel bad for hating him.

Another of my favourite of this author's I think! I hadn't read this one before, and I'm reading the books in completely the wrong order at the moment but it didn't affect my enjoyment of it. Usually I can spot the shifty character but the twists and turns in this story took me off guard. A really complex story with the characters well intertwined and the sub-plots just as exciting.

This was a cracker of a story. I love how I never get the solution quite right but the clues are there in hindsight.

This is much more complex than previous stories, I loved the inter connections between things.

The character growth of Thorne and Hendricks is brilliant.

My favourite so far, can't wait to read the next one!!
