OMG I LOVE. The books was so good, it was an easy read and their dynamic was great. Im not too pleased with the ending, it kind of felt like it was made with little effort but it was super enjoyable. This was my first sapphic book and I’m excited for the next

I did enjoy this book. It’s a holiday contemporary, feel-good romance many crave. That being said, I have this feeling that the author has an oral/mouth/tongue fixation; and I don’t mean in a sexy way. Every two-five pages someone is licking their lips, biting their cheek, pursing their lips, pressing their tongue against their cheek, darting their tongue out of their mouth, or some other iteration that it was increasingly distracting from the story. A coworker suggested that maybe it’s because we can’t see each other’s mouths right now and it’s a fixation? In any case, I really enjoyed the story, but I can’t get over all the licking lips and darting tongues (again...not in the sexy way, though it was mentioned there as well).

This was such a cute, quick read! Fake-dating, sapphic romance, sign me up! First off, I love the characters names (Darcy and Elle, short for Elizabeth) and the little tie in to Pride and Prejudice. Following in the footsteps of their namesakes, Darcy is a little more tight laced, and Elle is a little more carefree. And of course, despite their differences in how they perceive the world, they have plenty of chemistry and attraction for each other.
I thought it was funny how in the last book I reviewed, I felt like the relationship went really fast as it was about a month - and yet this story covered a similar timeframe and it felt so much slower! I think it's because I like to see the domestic moments, and I really liked the inclusion of some kind of random text threads, that really showcased how their relationship was evolving. It just made me love Elle and Darcy together that much more.
The only thing I wish this book did delve into was Darcy's past relationship, which was a big point of how she currently handles love and dating. It seemed like a pretty big thing, but we don't really find out what happened until after the conflict between Elle and Darcy. It made it a little harder to connect, and understand the reason for Darcy's choice.
But other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of these two as side characters in Brendon and Annie's book!
