There isn't much to this old short story, but it is interesting to read a ghost story more than a hundred years old. The framing of the story is rather pointless, having Carnacki gather all his friends together to tell them the tale, when we could just read the story as if he'd written it first hand. But it was fine. The biggest thing I learned from reading this story is that even at 45 years old, I'm not mature enough to read about old sailing vessels' poop decks without snickering...
