I loved this book of poetry. I loved how Gill weaved storytelling and poetry together. She's incredibly talented and Paro's story has a special place in my heart. If not for leading a busy life, I would've finished this book a lot sooner, it definitely deserved to not be put down and finished in one sitting. I would highly recommend this for anyone struggling with their identity or place in the world. Gill may write about mythological Gods and Goddesses but the lessons learned from them are real.

oh, wow. Okey, aku memang sudah mengira buku ini akan memukau diriku, tapi wow, aku tak menyangka ternyata sebagusss ituuu.

Awalnya kupikir buku ini berisi kumpulan puisi dan cerpen hehe, tapi ternyata lebih ke verse-novel yaa.

What I like
1. A Stories About Goddess
Selain puisi yang dimuat ada juga cerita tentang dewi-dewi sejumlah 6 cerita. Setiap cerita dikisahkan dari sudut pandang Sang Dewi yang mana mengungkapkan bagaimana 'kisah sebenarnya'. Setiap Dewi juga memiliki karakter yang kuat dan menunjukkan bahwa perempuan tidak selamanya mengambil peran yang butuh pertolongan laki-laki, namun sebaliknya. Cerita favoritku tentang Drupadi.

2. Character Develompment and Plot
Awalnya mungkin Pero terlihat sebagai sosok yang kurang percaya diri yang sering meragukan dirinya sendiri, namun perlahan berkembangnya alur Pero berhasil menemukan jati dirinya dan bisa menerima dirinya apa adanya. Dan untuk jalan cerita yang dibangun pun realistis dan tidak tergesa-gesa.

3. Issues
DBanyak sekali isu sosial yang diangkat dalam buku ini. Terutama masalah SARA dan budaya patriarki.

Aku ingin sekali lebih banyak pembaca yang membaca buku ini!
