I thought since this a library big reads it would be well written & not like a Lifetime movie. Nope it's a Lifetime movie. From the first introduction of the main characters friend-I knew that person was going to be the villain.

Probably more of a 2.5. It's not that I didn't enjoy it at all, but there weren't enough twists for a thriller, and all red herrings were there ONLY to make sure you weren't sure who the culprit was, which came off as lazy to me.
I have no idea how this book got 4 stars on Amazon. Ugh.
4-ish stars
Great page-turner. I thought the “bad guy” was obvious and at the end there were a few things (eg a death) that we’re over-the-top and somewhat ruined the (until that point) good and realistic story. Probably my favorite by this author and I think I’ve read all her books now.
I also want to compliment how well the author wrote what it is like to be a stalker and how it makes you feel like you’re coming unglued and losing your mind.
The author also writes parental psychological abuse and gaslighting supremely well; including the long-term affect it has on the child later. Specially the step mother made comments that in isolation don’t seem harmful but cumulatively are... or how all other things she does is deniable, making the child question herself and also not feel like anyone would believe here. For example, the mother damaged the dress but blamed it on the child and when the father is involved, of course he more likely believes the story his daughter did it bc she hates her new step mom.

Super-quick read with a decent dose of predictability. But if you're looking for a page-turner that doesn't require a lot of focus, this is a good pick.
Easy read to keep me busy on a long flight. It did the trick.
