Because I read this series in very quick succession while traveling on little sleep, they kind of blend together. I did enjoy this one, but I think I liked the first one better. Charlie kind of gets on my nerves.

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews Last summer Lindsey released About A Girl. It was a fresh new story that wasn't about Angie and co and I was a little scared to read it. Why? Well I love the I heart series but I was scared in case I didn't love it. I get apprehensive about reading books from authors that I've loved their previous books. I knew I was still going to read it but I was just being a bit wary. I needn't have worried though from the first page I knew I was going to love Tess and her gang. As soon as I finished it, like 3 days after it was released, there I was begging Lindsey for the next book. A whole damn year I had to wait but I tell you now it was worth the wait.

In the first book I noticed some similarities between me and Tess but the more I read about her, the more I realise I'm like her. Any one who knows me will tell you I have this inability to make a decision. What if I make the wrong choice could it affect everything? Tess spends a lot of time trying to make some tough decisions in this book and Amy does tell her off for being a coward. She knows what she really wants but she's just too scared in case it all goes wrong.

At the end of book one Charlie finally got his act together and told Tess wanted to give them a shot in a pretty ineloquent way. Tess had been in love with him for the last ten years but while she was in Hawaii something changed.   He's a dependable dimwit. He's the guy that can be your best friend but nothing more. He's the guy your mum want's you to be with because he'll always do the right thing but there's just no spark there.

Nick is back. This boy is everything you want but shouldn't. That Ben and Jerry's you know you shouldn't eat but do anyway. Tess has been trying to get hold of him since she got back from Hawaii. He asked her to call him and does he answer his phone? No of course he doesn't, he's Nick. He is infuriating but he is so god damn hot. The connection between the two of them is electric and you can't help but think some how it needs to work out.

I'm really glad that Amy got a bigger part in this book. It was great to see the dynamics of their relationship. I hope she plays a bigger part in future books. She's a really fun character.

I absolutely loved seeing Kekipi again. He really is such a great gay BFF. I need a Kekipi in my life.

As soon as i finished this book I logged on to twitter and asked Lindsey if she's planning another Tess book because I didn't feel like her story was finished. I felt like it was still only just beginning and there was so much more to tell. I was thrilled when she said yes.

This is a perfect book to read in the sun with a cocktail in the other hand. This should be top of your summer reading pile.

Tak tento díl mě poměrně zklamal. Už první díl byl spíše průměrný, než zajímavý a tento to nijak nevylepšil. To, že není třetí díl přeložený, snad ani nevadí. Nemám pocit, že bych o něco přišla.

Wasn't copyedited (or edited at all, if I had to guess). Avoid.

It was good. At points I didn't always love Tess and I think far too many things in her life simply fall into her lap too easily, but I love Lindsey Kelk's writing style.

Definitely and enjoyable chick lit.

Positively hated the ending. But otherwise, another light read from Lindsay Kelk.

If you are looking for an easy fun read for young women this is probably a book you'll like. It really made me smile because I'm a sucker for these kind of romantic girly books. Though I gotta admit I was a little disappointed with the ending...

From the prologue and opening chapter I thought I’d picked up a winner. Best friends in jail together in Milan in formal dresses, breaking into your own flat and hiding under your bed because you’re afraid to face your flatmate and getting arrested as you fall out of your bedroom window to escape said flatmate. This was a promising start, this I could see on the big screen with Kristen Wiig.

And then it went downhill.

The main character is pathetic to the point of annoyance rather than affection. There is no development of the main love interests.

On that note, without wishing to offend anyone, and in particular the author*, from the way sex is dealt with in these books you would honestly think the author had never got any. Whilst I wasn’t expecting 50 Shades level of description I want more than the awkward mumblings of a teenager embarrassed to watch a sex scene with their mum and dad on a post watershed BBC drama.

There are also contradictions within the story which just plain annoyed me.

You won't miss anything by not reading this one

*I don’t write my reviews to be bitchy or snarky or just for kicks of giving a bad review. I tell it as I read it.

Lindsey Kelk really can do no wrong. Everything she writes is so fun! This book continues with her fun style, her little witty lines, and her excellent use of supporting characters. I will freely admit I prefer the I heart series, I still really enjoyed this book though. I found Amy to be the most likable part of the book. Amy reminds me of a Betsey Johnson type personality that you just really want to love.

Frustratingly slow at the start, I felt like this could've been a few chapters shorter. I hate saying that as Lindsey's one of my fave writers! It just felt a little bit "will they, won't they" for about four chapters around half way through. Having said that, it picked up and I did enjoy the story overall.
