This novelization seems to have been written with an early shooting script as its bases.
You can see where several scripted scenes were alerted for logistic purposes (scenes great on paper... but too expense to shoot)... And you can see where the actors adlibbed on-set and improved their lines ... if produced as scripted, the film would have been far less funny.
