When I started reading this I was coming off a hi hum day and kind of feeling a little bit of a failure for not having completed the one task I set myself: taking down my Christmas tree. I had managed to take all the ornaments off and sing and dance in my living room and watch half of a Star Wars movie but I was not done. I was literally laying on my bed thinking about how much I suck for not finishing the one thing I set out to do on my day off. I was thinking about how this is something I always do. It's a new year, could I just figure shit out for once?

And then I picked up this book. Mostly because I've set a hell of a reading goal for myself this year and it was short, sweet, and simple.

What a nice, sunshiney shot in the arm this was! Sometimes you just need a stranger to tell you to calm down and enjoy the journey. It's important to finish things, but it's just as important not to be yourself up when you don't. I loved this little book I liked the reminder that Joy can be found in the seemingly dumb stuff in life, like taking ornaments off a pre-lit tree and singing your favorite songs at the top of your lungs. I might even buy it so I can read it again whenever I need a pick me up.

Your job doesn’t define you—your bravery and kindness and gratitude do. Even without any “big” accomplishments yet to your name, you are enough. Whether you have top billing, or you’re still dancing in the back row, you are enough, just as you are.
