2020 reading challenge (NYT bestseller) I had never heard of Phillip Margolin, but I saw how many New York Times bestsellers he had and it blew my mind. So I thought I would try this book. On the back cover it says "The scariest book I've read since Red Dragon" Michael Palmer, author of The Patient. Sold. I wanted to read this book. It starts out with a body organ harvesting deal gone wrong, and criminals turn on each other. Then we meet Amanda Jafre, a young new lawyer. I can't say much about this book without giving it away, but the story involves two surgeons (married but separated) and they're both suspects. The story flips back and forth as to who they criminal could be.
This is the kind of book that keeps you entertained, turning pages, needing to know what's really happening. The author gives you just enough information to leave you wondering, guessing who the killer is.
I love the pain journal, and how the killer described their bad deeds. It was very interesting. Not scary to me, but fun. I did figure out who the killer was before the end of the book. But I enjoyed this one.

Amanda Jaffe is a great character and I definitely plan on reading the entire series. I loved the twists and thrills.

First Margolin book I've read and the first in the Amanda Jaffe series. Excellent courtroom drama with a lot of suspense and mystery in the making.

Fast paced and excellent writing

Having read Margolin's 'Dana Cutler' series and loved it, I wanted to go back and read his works from the start. I'm used to his writing style, so worried going back to his first outing would be disappointing... it definitely was not. He rivals John Grisham's early works (for which I fell in love with Grisham), and his character development is top notch. Although it's hard to surprise me (I knew who the killer was from the beginning), I still loved the storyline, and the way he wrapped up everything. Looking forward to continuing the Amanda Jaffe series, and then on to the rest of his works.

Whew, I love this author. The twists always seem to catch me by surprise. I love a book with multiple characters that all appear to be fully fleshed out.

This one I read in less than a day, the last 30 pages I read in the bathroom 😂.

If you love your crime, mystery books, this one is for you. There was definitely more than one villain here, but the one we all cared about got what was coming.

It was a good read but I figured out the twist early on.

Wild Justice is everything I love in a crime fiction story. The only downside to this one, for me anyway, is I knew who the killer was as early as the first coffee "date". It was very interesting to see how the killer is finally caught though and I was definitely never bored. I already have book 2 and will be reading that one soon.
