Not fluff, but not a gritty mystery either. I find these the perfect balance for me!

This was a decent mystery and a quick read. Plus bury the lead? Hello.

I’m enjoying this series. This book is another good legal mystery that had me laugh out loud several times during the story. The humor the author is able to mix in with some of the darker plot points helps move the story forward in a way that makes it easy to breeze through. The author’s love for dogs is evident and Tara is one of my favorite characters! I definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for a legal mystery type book.

Andy and Willie have a dog rescue named after his Golden Retriever Tara. They save dogs that are on doggie death row. Andy has been looking for a charity to give some of his 22 million too. That's about all the good that is happening in Paterson. There is a brutal serial killer that is only talking to reporter Daniel Cummings. The news editor asks Andy to come onboard as a lawyer for the newspaper. Daniel has a past and when that past comes calling Daniel thinks he can get ahead of the killer and winds up with blood on his hands as well as a high profile women dead at his feet. Andy, Laurie, Kevin and the rest of the crew come together to try and clear Daniel because they feel his has been framed.
As they start to dig, threats are being made towards Andy. Someone even takes a shot at Andy luckily the bullet is a paintball but the message is clear.
Instead of Andy backing off, he recruits help in finding out who the killer is.

This is a quick read, the plot is a little lacking, but it has the feel of leading to a bigger plot in the future.
