Simply brilliant sports journalism. Massively intriguing, bulging in insights. Superbly discussed and written. Geoff is a consistently brilliant writer and here you have an unrivaled delve into foundations of this situation.

A really fascinating read, not just on the events of the ball tampering scandal, but the characters involved and how the personalities and culture influenced things. Worth it for any cricket fans.

'Simpsons Tyre Fire of sporting administration' is my new favourite metaphor. Geoff Lemon's writing is captivating

Unbiased, fair look at the cricketing culture behind the Australian Cricketing Scandal in 2018. Superb read.

Probably can’t add much to the press reviews I’ve read - comprehensive, insightful, sharp, funny and frequently all of those things at once. I am an unabashed fan of Geoff’s literary style (I think it was Baum who said he ‘is a poet, and he looks and writes like one’) but also the breadth of reference. For someone who spends so much time on it, he puts cricket in perspective, but articulates why cricket is important, particularly in Australia.
Also, the sandpaper on the cover is what pushes it to the full five stars for me.

This book is a solid exploration and rumination on the sandpaper debacle and Australian Cricket Culture. It’s also witty and written with a wry smile.
