So... My brother and I listened to the audio book this weekend and I have completely mixed feelings. For one, they are just totally fun and I can see why the movies are the way they are. This was full of great action and Bond is definitely a cool operator. I loved the descriptions of the personalities especially.

However, that being said, it was definitely racy and I don't think I will read another. My brother had to fast forward some parts that put me to the blush - again, I can see why the movies are the way they are now. Mmmm. Love James Bond.

Stunning book. Really enjoyed the break up in pace by having the first third follow the enemy. Then when the Bond narrative kicks in it's electric al the way until the end. Kerim is easily the best character written yet by Fleming.

By far the best of the James Bond novels that I have read.

A classic Bond tale. The love-from-afar is perhaps a bit hard to swallow, but Darko Kerim is such a fabulous, larger-than-life character, and you cannot help but get pulled into the almost absurd plot. Fleming was tired of Bond by this point and left the ending open so it could be the last. I'm glad it was not.
