I really don’t have much to say for this one. It was alright, but nothing particularly engaging or exciting. I had high hopes, but oh well. (Student book club)

This was a fun, silly read. I was annoyed by the way everyone talked. Maybe it could add to the silliness, but it just seemed too much to me. If she talked that way, she would also think that way, right? I loved the incorporation of all sorts of different fairy tales.

I finally got around to reading this, though it was recommended to me four or five years ago. It was very cute, and incorporated a lot of fairy tale elements into it. The writing was witty and humorous, and I'm glad to own a copy of it now!

The overall concept really wasn't my thing, plus there were a lot of inconsistencies and the language drove me bonkers. BUT, having chosen it at the request of my faithful kids book club members to read a fairy tale/kings and queens book, I think they'll love it and I think we'll have a good time talking about it.

I absolutely hated this book it was very lengthy and boring! It had my attention lingering from the first page I do not reccomend!

- The characters' dialogue is in Old English, but the rest of the book isn't. The author did a really good job mixing the two while writing.

- The proverbs and verses at the beginning of each chapter are fun.

- The Ogress bit was a funny part of book. I really enjoyed it.

- I can't decided if I like the Prince or not. He is really sweet and kind, but he is also a fool.

- The book is a re-telling of The Goose Girl with a bit of Rapunzel in there. I really enjoyed the twists and plot of the book. Even though it is a fairy tale re-telling, it is unique enough that it could be it's own story.

- I really liked the Goose Girl. She was a really spunky character.

- Great characters and a fun story = great book!

hilarious! excellent for fairy tale lovers, humour, and appreciators of language, because the language used here is entertainingly archaic.

I sped through this in a day. A light and thoroughly entertaining read, which was much needed as the previous two books I read were pretty intense. Fun and full of frivolity.
