Not the most scientific material nor my methods of testing BUT

Test # 1 (John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address)
Before - You read between 300 - 350 words per minute. Above-average reading level. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.) It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read.

Test # 2 (The Professor's House, by Willa Cather)
You read between 350 - 400 words per minute. Well above average reading level. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.) It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read.

AFTER

You read between 350 - 400 words per minute. Well above average reading level. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.) It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read.

Conclusion - The methods taught in this book have been surprisingly helpful and even better when I have a format I enjoy reading (blocks), centering my vision, and retaining top to bottom flow.
