I’m probs going to come back and read this properly - I just found it a bit too sad. Very beautifully written and I adore Jacobson’s use of language.

Deeply personal and raw poems that made for an exquisite reading experience. So much so, however, that it was, at times, difficult to interpret or relate to some of the more intimate pieces.

I definitely felt like the strength of this collection (from my reading anyway!) was in the latter third - the poems focused on memories and interactions with grandparents (particularly nanna) were really moving. The use of sensory imagery, and religious (Jewish) symbolism in the prose and titles of the poems was also really well utilized. Well worth checking out!
