I have mixed feelings about this book, I like it but there are some parts I felt did not fit in well with the plot. I saw someone's review on the 2nd book of this series saying how Ky and Cassia are so alike you have to check who the person talking is. That is so true, many times in this book I had to look at the top of the page, realizing it's a totally different person. I also felt that Xander was just a replacement for Lei, just because Lei kept comparing Xander to Vick, but maybe that was just me. Also, I feel like the author does not give enough information about some things, for example, Cassia's job, I don't understand it very well, I still don't know what a sorter is.
Overall, I liked this book but there were a few things here and there that made me confused.

This one was the best one of the trilogy. It is much more fast paced than the others, and the stakes are higher. It's worth getting through the dragging parts of the other two to get to this one.

Thankfully, this one was much better than the last one. It wrapped up the series very nicely.

Honestly, this was my favorite book of the trilogy. I think Ally Condie did a job well done in wrapping up the story. I feel like the characters had more depth in this book than they did the first two. Sometimes the writing/story felt a little choppy and poems randomly thrown in (as with the previous two books) but not as much this time. Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable trilogy to read!

I thought it was a nice change of pace that the cure for the Plague mutation came from a simple flower instead of something more predictable (someone's blood, some technology, etc. etc.) I love that Xander found his own love in the end, and while I found a lot of the book to be mildly predictable (as many YA books can be), I did not predict the twist with Lei at the end, and I found myself thrilled that this ended up being the case.

I feel sad, like I always feel after finishing a (in general) good book series. I feel kind of empty and in my case, the only way to cure this emptiness is to start reading yet another book.

So while we're at it why not talk about cures, shall we? Because cures were what this whole book was about. "Woo, we have a cure, we are going to take down the society", "No it backfired we need a new cure", "Yey we found a new cure everything's fine". Waaah, I'm so tired of cures. And maybe It's not just because of all the cures that I didn't like this book very much, maybe it's also the slow pace of this books fault. Because it was really slow, 512 pages of sad monologues, poetry (which was kind of beautiful on occasion) and cure-"finding".

Don't get me wrong, I'm not "hating" on this book, I'm just not loving it. And the thing I dislike most is that while reading this I had the biggest pityparty for Xander known to mankind. I mean come on! Why have a triangel when you're not even going to give the guy a chance Condie? I have to say that I used to be a real sucker for triangels, but I think I got over it a while ago, and this just proves it. The only time, in this series of three books I felt like Xander had even a little bit of a chance was in the first book, FIRST BOOK. He went through so much in this book and it almost broke him, but he kept going and kept loving her and she never thought of him, really thought of him in that way. It was all just really sad. Just know that Xander wasn't some 'douchie' who was all like "I hate Ky, I should be with Cassia", he was as nice as ever, just hoping that Cassia might want him and want to fall in love with him. (Did I say that the whole thing was super sad?)

But seriously, the writing is beautiful and the poetry inputs are amazing and it's all very nicely done. It's just the story that is slow and a little bit boring. And the ending.. It just left me empty with some sort of stomach ache. I really liked Matched and I would of liked a better ending to this trilogy.

A 2,5 book if you ask me.

The ending was super cute, but that was pretty much the highlight of the book for me. There was nowhere near as much drama as I'd hoped for, and there was little to distinguish between the three characters' perspectives. I really enjoyed the first book, but both sequels were somewhat a let down.

It's nice to have an ending and conclusion to this story, but I really feel that it could have ended differently. In spite of the poem by Dylan Thomas, it felt like it went gentle. There was room for where it's open ended, but with clarity of where everyone is going.

I loved the poetics in this book and felt they were more appropriately done in this one than the previous one. I enjoyed the dialogue and action and the progression as well.

What gave me whiplash the most was the constant POV switches. I liked getting in everyone's head, but it was a bit jarring at times. Ally Condie did a remarkable job at making three first person POVs different from each other. I felt that Ky and Cassia would blend together and Ky and Xander did too. It's a balance.

Overall, the book had some interesting reveals. I saw quite a few of them coming, the bigger ones, but the read was quick and never felt like it was dragging as the previous book did.
