I felt this kind of lacked a center. It's the story of the life of a woman growing up and living in the London theater community of the 20s and 30s, and while it's interesting, it has no real point. It isn't really mystery or suspense--there's a couple of murders and some fairly minor mysteries, but none of them is really central to the story, or even very interesting. It's a reasonably good book, but the end left me unsatisfied.
