A case of a potentially-very-fun book that got way overwritten... should've let the art do its thing.

I'm a sucker for multiverse books but I wish exiles went in a different direction sometimes than the threats they usually pull

Was expecting to like this more than I actually did. If nothing else the characters continuing to stop for parties got mind boggling dumb. Something bad happened and the end of most parties including one where they literally let the whole of New Your and New Jersey get Nuked better they decided to have a party right next to an unstable untested nuclear bomb and not keep that great of an eye on it. Valkyrie continuing to flirt with Becky like she didn’t just watched her get literally nuked was a strange choice. And then they go right back to partying after like there’s a difference between refusing to wallow in misery and not having basic pattern recognition. The art and designs were still great and there was moments I liked so it gets a middleing 2.5 stars from me.

Una historia entretenida, bien narrada y bien dibujada, con ideas con mucho potencial pero que no llega a más. Lectura "palomitera" que deba semillas que ya venenos si alguien las utiliza algún día.

4/5 issues of this was a reread from when i bought this series as digital issues (after being drawn in by the peggy captain america cover) but then...forgot to keep reading until i noticed them in my comixology account. this is definitely unfocused chaos, but like mostly fun unfocused chaos? i like the brief appearances of various versions of iconic marvel characters. some of the issues are like more 3-starts but rounding up for the volume.

I love seeing alternate world versions of Marvel characters. My personal favorites in this first collection include Becky Barnes, Peggy Carter Captain America, and Western T'Challa. I can't wait to see what other characters I'll encounter in the next installment of Exiles.
